MZONKE MALONEY

Mzonke Maloney is a writer and director interested in the strange, funny and often contradictory ways people move through the world.  He’s drawn to the awkward pauses, small tensions and everyday absurdities that reveal something honest about being human.

His work is character-led and he enjoys working closely with actors to find moments that feel spontaneous, lived-in and real — and often a little uncomfortable, occasionally very funny, and usually true.

Mzonke is a rostered director and partner at Carbon Films.
